Big Girl Room almost Complete......FINALLY!!!!

Well Morgan FINALLY has a little girl room. I held off buying most of the furniture until I knew for sure that the TPR was going to go through. I have been looking around since October for a chest and night stand that would match her bed. I really wanted to keep her bed because I just love it so much. I found the perfect ones a couple of weeks ago and ordered them and they came in on Friday. I had also picked up a small bookcase, new bedding, and curtains along the way. Me and my mom have been working on it today and I have to say that I LOVE IT! I never thought that it would come together this good. This is the view when you walk in her door.

You will have to pay no attention to my little homeless girl. She got in the pile of clothes that was sitting in the floor and this emsemble is what she came up with. Nice, eh?
A little better view of the bookcase. It looks like her own litte suite.
The little night stand that will someday hold her tv. We are still holding out on that one. I still want her to play instead of having her nose stuck in the television constantly.

Her bed with the new bedding. I love it. Of course Shami, Froggy, and Chocolate are waiting for Morgie and bedtime. She has to sleep with all three every night.

Another angle of her room that shows the chest and her favorite place the mirrors. I am pretty sure that I am going to add a place to hang her Princess dresses between her bed and the mirrors.

Here is the top of the chest. I love these picture frames, although I haven't changed the pictures since last summer. One says "fairy tales do come true" and the other says "once upon a time."

This is her door with some of her hairbows. All the rest of them are in one of her chest drawers. She has a million! We just got this bag. It has her new initials on it!

I think that it is pretty much finished. I am going to add some storage bins in the lower part of her bookcase, a place to hang her dresses up, and I am going to have some canvases painted with her initials on them to go over the night stand. But you can get a pretty good picture now. She is so excited. She keeps running up to me and saying, "Love it!" When me and mom got finished we just stood in the doorway and sighed, finally the girlie girl room that my princess deserves!! We were almost teary eyed as this is just another thing that makes it REAL! She is here to stay, THANK GOD!!!!

Growth Spurt???

This is becoming a pretty common sight at our house......it usually starts something like this...in the car.

Then it goes straight to this....

Or occasionally this....

Or this.....

Or sometimes......this.......

Do you get the picture (no pun intended)? Lots of sleeping going on. I am thinking maybe she is going through a growth spurt maybe? At any rate it is pretty funny waiting to see where she will find to collapse next.

Morgan is doing so much better emotionally. She really is a different little girl these days. Me and my mom talk about it almost every day. She is a true delight to be around. With all the extra stability the last few months we can all really see a huge difference in Morgan's personality. She is allot more playful and child-like. She giggles allot and acts silly almost constantly. These are things that I have waited to see and prayed for. Every child deserves the chance to have their childhood. I am glad that Morgan is finally getting her chance!

Happy 2 Years!!!

I know that this is a long show so make sure you have about 10 min's before you start it. In my opinion worth it.....although I am a teensy bit biased! Enjoy!

We are celebrating a day early with pizza and cupcakes tonight at my parents house. The next BIG party will be for the adoption. We still haven't gotten a date for that yet but have been told not to expect before about June.

Have a great weekend everyone!

A trip down memory lane...

Well ladies, this is just a refresher to gear you up for Friday. Friday will be the two year anniversary of the date that Morgan came into my care. What a day! Probably one of the most defining days in my life thus far if not the most defining day. I have learned many things throughout my two years as a foster parent. One is that your heart is completely capable of loving anothers child as though it were your own from the first instant that you meet them. I have been lucky so far to have experienced this with two of the most beautiful girls. God has blessed me on this road and taught me many lessons along the way! Enjoy the refresher show and get ready for the new one on Friday.

Fun in a Tub!!!

Today me and Morgan had a pj day at home. I caught up on lots and lots of laundry, we played and did homework (her workbooks), and watched Peter Pan (her new favorite). And of all the things that we/she played with today this is what she had the most fun with......

Her toy tub minus toys! Imagine that.

Too cute in her Little Red Riding Hood jammies.
Always posing.
Look Mommy I fit all the way down! Too stinkin' cute.
I found this next picture when I was looking for todays pictures in my folders. Last weekend when it was so cold outside and we stayed inside most of the day I decided to dry Morgan's bangs over to the side. I am thinking about growing her bangs out......

What do you ladies think??????

Have a great week and stay tuned. I saved some really cute pics from today for later.

Hiding God's Word In Our Heart

I bought a book that I had read about on several blogs a month or so ago and had been waiting until the New Year to start it with Morgan. It is called "My ABC Bible Verses." We started New Years day and little did I know just how quickly she would take to it. She memorized her first verse the first night and the reference the second night. I had thought that we would maybe do 2 a month.

Just in case you didn't understand it is "A soft answer turns away wrath" Proverbs 15:1. She is so proud of herself that she is telling everyone and says that she can't wait to go to school and tell the teachers what A stands for!

Happy New Year!!!!

Happy New Year Girls! Morgan wore her hat around the house all day yesterday. Here are some of the silly pics that I took of her throughout the day.

As you can see Morgie is thrilled about 2009.

Of course Miss Kit had to get in on the action as well!

Silly girl..............

You can just see the excitement over 2009 in her BIG eyes!

I guess that Miss Morgan knows the same secret that I do..........2009 is going to be a very, very good year for her and her Mommy. I see a lot of reasons to celebrate in our near future!!!
