Water Park Fun

We went to this new water park for kids today with Bethie, Josh and the kids. It was soooo much fun. I almost bailed because I haven't been feeling good and I guess I overdid it today and started feeling really cruddy right before we left. I am glad that I went ahead and went. Let me just say that this place is awesome. Just right for kids Morgan and Olivia's age.

Here is a picture of one part of the park. This was Morgan's favorite thing. She loved the slide. I kinda thought that it might scare her but I was WRONG!

This is right after we got there. It took some coaxing to get her to do this because she hates to be sprayed with water. She will willing put her head under but hates to be splashed or squirted. She loved it one she went through it the first time.

Here are the girls together.

Morgan coming down the slide for the first time.

Morgie loved playing in the fountains too.

She loved stepping on them and sitting on them.

The other side of the part had a little lazy hooch. We suited the kids up in life vest and let them go. This turned out to be an awesome way for the kids to practice swimming against the current. They loved it...can you tell????

Morgan had this look of complete and utter joy on her face the entire time that we were there.

Here are the girls trying to catch each other.

Cool pic of Morgan after the sun started going down.

Beth, Josh and the kiddies left after about an hour and a half but Morgan wanted to stay so we did. One of Morgan's friends from her class last year was there too. She had a great time playing with her too.

This is Morgan, Emily, and Emily's big sister.

Morgan and Emily before we left. They are TOO CUTE!

Here is a video that I took of the girls coming down the slide.

We stopped at KFC on the way home and Morgan was in heaven. I had to take a picture because she is just too funny where there is chicken, potatoes, and corn on the cob concerned!!

After we ate Morgan fell asleep on my lap watching Night at the Museum. That wrapped up a great day. We had such a great time. Tomorrow I vote for staying at home and resting! We have to get ready for Disney too! We leave on Saturday.....WAHOO!!

175th Anniversary

Today my church celebrated it's 175th anniversary. How cool is that?!?!? It was tons of fun. They also made it Old Timers Day, which by the way is much easier for guys! They invited all the former pastors to come and told all kinds of interesting facts about the history of the church. They even had baptising in the oldest baptising pool. Then they had lunch on the grounds. Yummy!

Here is a picture of Iz Man with Morgie on the steps of the old church. What hams!!!

And Morgie coming down the steps. This is the church that was in use when I first started going to our church in the mid 90's. I LOVE the old church. So many wonderful memories!!

Morgie walking down the steps.

After we all ate some of the members brought their horses to the church and the kiddies all got to ride. Morgan went first.

She was in heaven!

Then it was Chey Chey's turn.

Then Iz Man.

John John walked the kids down to see the other horse that was getting a rest. I LOVE this picture! Too sweet!

The youth has their own little outdoor arena for youth gatherings and singings. Next the kiddies traveled over to it to play around.

All the kiddies. At one point Morgan & Cheyenne were singing Jesus Loves Me and Izzy was getting ready to preach to us!

Here is Izzy. These pics just melt my heart. Little Israel takes in everything and by that I mean EVERYthing! So, here is he is preaching. He is saying, "And as for me and my house we will SERVE the LORD!!" Gasp, sigh!!!!

What would a Southern Baptist preacher be without walking it out a little?? I love the next pic.

Finally a picture of Morgan and John-John. She loves her John-John and tends to really show out to get his attention.

What a great day! I absolutely love my church and my church family. They are AMAZING!!!

Happy 175th Anniversary!!!!!

Birthday Weekend

So, what a fun weekend. Saturday was my sister's birthday and tomorrow is mine. So, we celebrated both of our birthdays Sunday at my parents house. This is a pic of Morgan before church. We had a "picnic" Friday night and she won't let me take the blanket up!

Then she had a few moments to dance with Trey. She loves to dance. (I love this outfit....what a BIG girl!!!)

Mom wanted a new picture of me & Sis......she totally guilted us into it!

Then we got a pic of me & Morgan since we matched perfectly down to our shoes! Morgan loved it!

And Molly Polly and her Mommy with my Sister's cake. (they matched too!!!)

Then me & Morgan had our picture made with my cake. It says Happy Birthday Mommy!

Love it! We had tons of fun and tomorrow me & Ang are going to Kidsignments.....we have never been.....Can't wait!!!

Last day of Summer Break

Well ladies, it's that time. The night before the 1st day of school. We went to meet Morgan's Pre-K teacher Thursday night. I think that Morgan is going to like her. The class is very small which I LOVE! We spent all day Saturday gathering up all of her school supplies. I wasn't prepared for the mile long list of the weirdest things... for Pre-K! Today we hung out at home and just had fun!
We started out with sidewalk chalk. The picture below is a self-portrait.....see the pig tails???

Um and yeah what is a post without the classic sassy pose that my little sassafrass has perfected??

Then we moved to the backyard. Morgan played on the swing set. Which I actually enjoyed too, since it isn't quite as hot as it has been.

Silly Girl!!!!!

I thought that while she was playing I would clean her swimming pool out and the patio off. Of course, as soon as Morgie saw water she came running. Needless to say that I soaked her with the water hose. Then filled the pool up and let her play in her already drenched clothes....which she thought was hilarious. She seemed to think that it was much more fun than swimming in a bathing suit.

Testing the waters.....

Chillin' out!

Just a few pics of Morgie being silly.

She says, "My future's so bright I gotta wear shades!"

She stopped to make a dandelion wish.

We did finally make it inside and Morgan had fun packing her book bag. (In a couple of years this may not be so fun for her!)

More supplies......about half-way through Morgan looked up and said, "But Mommy, it is going to be toooooo heavy!!!" (in her best whiny voice)

Of course there was room for one last thing.....Morgan folding her much needed brand new blankie for school.

I was kidding Morgan and said there may not be enough room in there for blankie......As you can see she was very determined to get it in there! She stuffed and stuffed and stuffed and finally got it in with a HUGE sigh of relief!

She is tucked in snug as a bug now. I can't believe my little, little girl is in Pre-K. Time flies and today once again I was quietly reminded,

MY CUP RUNNETH OVER!!!!!

Naive Mommy

Not many pictures to share from this last weekend. I attended the Beth Moore simulcast Friday & Saturday. It was great. She is a great Bible teacher that has been blessed with the ability to make it seem as though you are in the room with her alone, and she is speaking directly to you. I felt greatly rejuvenated afterwards.

The rejuvenation was much needed because on Sunday I tried to start getting ready for a consignment sale that I am putting stuff in in September. Here is a picture of how my living room looked most of Sunday.

Just the sight of the mess in this picture makes my stomach ache! I thought that I was going to have a full blown panic attack before I got it straightened out and either packed up or put into stacks to tag for the sale. I was OVERwhelmed!!!

I will add a few pictures of a few of Morgan's new favorite things. This is one. Mama birdie looking over her babies in the nest over one of our gutters.

Here is the very top of one of the babies heads. They are getting big now. Morgan will be so sad when they spread their wings and fly out of their nest. I need to start preparing her.

The other is big girl puzzles. I had naively thought that Morgan would have no interest in these, as any structured activity such as CandyLand or puzzles used to just throw her completely over the edge. Here lately I have realized that I have set boundaries for my little one in my head that she is breaking through daily without me knowing....then she just surprises me all of a sudden. I know that Morgan knows many of her letters and how to spell and write her name. I had no clue that she knew numbers by sight too, till the other day. We went by a Mobil station and Morgan very candidly said, "Look Mommy there is a M." I said good job baby. She responded with, "And an O and a B and an I and a 1." Ha, close enough. I almost had to pull over. She doesn't know L yet so the L is the sign quickly became a 1. That is one of the first times that I realized I really shouldn't put limitations on my little one. I mean look how far this one has come in 1 very short year. I mean nothing, and I do mean nothing that she accomplishes should surprise me.

Ah, can you tell that I am proud of my smart cookie?? Anyway, I got her a puzzle and she very quickly showed me what she thought of my pre set limitations.....

When she found her first 2 pieces that fit I erupted into cheers, again naive. She looked at me like, what a crazy Mommy I have. She must have thought that it was fun though, because for the first 3 or 4 times that she put a puzzle together she had herself a little party every single time that she put 2 pieces together. It was so cute. We had lots of victory dances that day for sure.

What a naive Mommy I am. I will have to remember to always set the bar high so that my little one always has something to strive for instead of feeling stifled by the limitations she might feel coming from her silly Mommy!

p.s. Go check out Bella's Bites on my Blog List. It is the site of one of my close friend here at work. She has a very adorable little girl Bella and she just started blogging.
