Splish Splash Memorial Day Fun!

I went today and bought Morgan a pool to play in. She loves it! We took it home and I filled it up while she was asleep. When she was awake I took her outside to see it for the first time and she hauled off into it with clothes on! So we had to have a whole talk about only getting into the pool with a bathing suit on and all that good stuff. The whole time she is looking at me like "WHATEVER!"
This is Morgan before she got in. Can you say "STRIKE A POSE!" I think that she may be practicing for the swim suit portion of the Ms America pageant!

I got her one of those little rings to play with and let me tell you what an almost 3 year old can't do with one of those things.

This is my favorite picture of the whole bunch. She is hysterical giggling cause she knows she is so OVERBOARD!!!!!

After about an hour Morgan was ready to call it a day for swimming. She was cold and hungry! "Look Mommy I'm a prune!"

I took these after I got her all bundled up. I couldn't resist putting both on.

This one for her smile....

and this one for those HUGE baby blues!!!

I hope all you gals enjoyed your Memorial Day!

Much Needed Improvements

Ok, so I reek at the whole painting thing and apparently the whole picking of the paint too. When we painted Morgans room the first time I wanted a pale shade of yellow that would be neutral. What I got was banana yellow! It was hideous! So, finally I rallied the troops to paint again. This time Beth convinced me to go with two colors. This time I took her with me since she has FAB taste! And might I add a huge thanks since she stayed up till 1AM primering the room Friday night. Two of the walls are a color called Lotus Flower and it is kinda a creamy color with just a tinge of yellow to it. The other two are green and I don't remember the actual color name. I searched high and low for something to put on her walls that could make it a girls room but could be removed easily if needed to be. I found the PERFECT things.

Once upon a time there was a Princess named Morgan.....

She loves her new "castle-house" as she calls it. She says that the princesses name is Morgan, of course!

Here is a closer pic of the new wall art. The "Once Upon A Time" is still kinda blurry.

Here is a picture of the two walls with the most change. Above the window it says "a dream is a wish your heart makes." I just couldn't resist. I am such a huge Cinderella freak! I think that every little girl should feel like a little princess!

And since her bed is now pretty free of walls except the back this is what she has learned that she can do.

Yep she absolutely loves to crawl under the bed and play, hide, or crawl all the way across as fast as she can!

Again a huge thanks to Bethie, my Mommy, and my Sis. I love you girls!!!

You've Come A Long Way Baby!!!

I am forever talking about what great progress Morgan has made in the last 3 months. One of the areas that she has really improved in is bath time. My faithful blog readers will remember that when I got Morgan she was beyond petrified of baths. The first night she screamed bloody murder just standing in it and I never got her to sit down. It took about a week before I finally ever so slowy reached the goal of getting her to sit down. So, she sat down....then it took another week or so before she would sit her legs down in it. Then she started playing and eventually gave me a real surprise when she began dumping water over her head and laughing. Wow!!! Well tonight she told me that she wanted to lay down. I told her to go ahead thinking that she meant on her belly and put her face in the water. Oh no, not this girl.....she has amazed me again!!! This is what she did.....

and of course I didn't freak her out when I screamed "Don't move! Mommy has to go get the camera!" Oops....a bit of a Bethie moment. Just in case you couldn't tell where the water comes too I decided to add this next picture too. I couldn't resist taking these because the ones who were here for that very first bath would never believe that this is where she is now!

It is totally all the way up the side of her face! Just her cute little face is sticking out of the water. I am so proud of her. I can remember loving the water and taking swimming lessons when I was 5ish and the only thing that I could not stand for the longest time was floating on my back, because I couldn't stand the water over my ears and only my face sticking out of the water. What a BIG girl!!!! Here is a pick of Morgan post bath and ready for bedtime. Ahhh, how cute!!!!

She is so cute and she gets so proud of herself when she can tell that I am excited at something that she can do. Oh, and 2 nights ago she surprised me by counting all the way to 17 by herself! Ahhh, such pride you have when your little ones start learning things by leaps & bounds. Morgan, you've come a long way baby!!!!

Happy Mother's Day!!!!

Today, was my first Mother's Day and it was great. Morgan made the cutest picture frame with a picture of her dressed up like a princess in it at school. And she gave me flowers and a bracelet and a kit to make a stepping stone. We went to church today and then went to my parents house to hang out with the gang for the day.
This is Morgan holding my flowers this morning. Bless her heart she could barely hold them but I was determined to get a picture!

Then Morgan was being such a ham and she was so cute this morning that I took a few more. This is one of my favorite's. Who could resist that face?!?! Maybe that is why she is ROTTEN!!!

Last but not least here is the whole gang this afternoon.

I hope that all of you had a great day too!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!!!!

Small Update

I am sorry for the delay in sharing this news. Friday night Morgan's caseworker came to meet me at Morgan's visit. She told me that EVERY single person except Lumpkin Co had denied Morgan's aunt. That would be the caseworker, her supervisor, Forsyth Co, and the independent who did the study all denied her. It apparently isn't official yet but there is no way she said. However, she assured me that when Mom's attorney gets news of this that we will be back in court again. She did say that she wasn't denied for something like a dirty house or that they thought that she was unfit or anything like that. She says it will all hold up in court that they found some serious criminal background. I was SOOOO relieved!!!! So, until I know further I don't have to worry about anything until court June 5th. Hooray!!!! Thanks for every prayer that was uttered to the Father in Morgan's behalf on this subject.

Also, just out of the respect for my friends.....I feel that I must warn you......my nephew got his license today!!!! Alert everyone!!! The roads aren't safe anymore!!!!!

A Zoo to You????

Yesterday, my church had MayFest. It is a day just for the kids in the church and the community. We missed eating at the cook-out and the homemade ice cream because my nephew went to prom and I wanted to see him all spiffed up. Beth & Livi tagged along, and we got there in time to see the huge water slide they had set up. This was the slip-n-slides to end all slip-n-slides!!!!! They put a tarp on this big hill at the church and poured water and baby soap down it to make it good 'n slippery. What can I say????? At least the kids enjoyed their baths!!!!
So, after they finally dragged all the kids off the slides with blue lips and near frozen to death.......we had a zoo. There is a wonderful place called "A Zoo to You" that brings a zoo show to you. We have had them come to the church once before and it was a huge success with EVERYone so we asked them to come again. They bring out 8-10 animals and give any kind of talk you want. Ours was related to animals in the bible. They also let you touch all of the "safe" animals. I was VERY impressed! First they brought out Milly, the skunk. You would naturally think EWWWWW...but she was adorable.

Then they brought out Aquilla, the hedgehog. I think that she was my favorite of the night. A real cutie, and she felt so funny to touch.

They had an alligator. I didn't think that he was so cute, but hey that is just my opinion. The guy said that they get up to 20 ft long....then he walked 20 ft off for us......ummmmm, that is one mammoth alligator! Then he taught us how to put an alligator to sleep. When it is upside down it puts itself to sleep because it doesn't get enough blood flow to it's head! Pretty cool man!!!

Ok, then of course he saved the next one till almost the very end! It was a HUGE snake.....YUCK!!!! I get the Illy-Willies just thinking about seeing it again. He had to keep reminding us that nothing God made is that bad. So snakes can't be all bad. AND it was considered a "safe" animal! So, off course he brings it around and most of the adults are running and I am definitely hiding behind the camera....but not Livi....Look at this!

Then to recoup from the big, nasty snake he brought out this....

How cute!!! He looks like Ross' monkey from Friends! And go figure, he wasn't a "safe" animal!!!!! What is up with that!?!?!?!?

They also brought some kind of bird, an armadillo, and a snapping turtle ( and boy was that thing ugly!!!).

Everyone (little & big) had a great time and the zoo was a HUGE success again!!!!!
