Happy Allytimes Day!!!

Well bloggy buds, Happy Valentines Day! I hope that everyone is having a great day. Morgan made out like a bandit. Lissa came over last night and brought her an outfit to wear today, a new cup, a big doggie, a movie, a book, AND most importantly a bag of Skittles!

As early as we have to get up these are about the best pictures of Morgan that I could manage. And if you will notice her hair is still wet.

She is sporting her new valentine's day outfit. Below she is holding on tight to her doggie and more importantly.....her thumb!

Morgie's teachers said that she had a good day today and they had an ice cream party. She came home with lots of loot. When I picked her up we went to Wal-Mart to let her pick out a toy for V-Day. She picked out a tea set and before we could even get out of the store she was trying to go to sleep in the buggy! This is quite possibly the biggest sleepy head in the whole world! She slept the whole way home and then I brought her in talked to her and sat her up on the couch thinking that it would wake her up. But no....instead......I got this.....

She was so cute that I couldn't resist taking a bunch more. She looks like a little eskimo.

And for those doubters out there.... just to prove that she really was sitting up.....

I finally did end up getting Morgan awake. I kept her up long enough to eat, take a bath, play with her new tea set, read her new book, and sing every kid song I could think of. If anyone is wondering "Twinke, Twinkle Little Star" is by far her favorite. She just giggles and sings along and when we are finished she says "Again Tinkle Tinkle Again!"

Happy Valentine's Day or as Morgan would say Happy Allytimes Day!

I Survived!!!!!

Well ladies.....I survived my first time in court. I was so nervous this morning it wasn't even funny. I got up bright and early and got ready and started calling doctors to try to get Morgan in somewhere today. Morgan did pretty well this morning. She let me get ready and watched tv. Court is pretty intimidating even if you aren't the bad guy. (I guess I know now why Melissa said to just keep reminding yourself that you aren't the bad guy). I got pretty lucky though I was out of there by 12 with a little more knowledge about what is going on, but not much. Then I had to rush and get Morgan from day care and have her at the DFACS office by 1 for a visit with her mom. From there I had to hurry to her doctors appointment. After that day I was mentally and physically exhausted! When we got home tonight Morgan was very good and we didn't even have a traumatic bath experience tonight...."THANK YOU GOD!!!" I didn't think that I could handle that after today. She went right to sleep at 8 so hopefully tonight will go well.

Anyways, I just wanted to say thanks to my friend Ang who offered to go sit with me today. And also a really BIG thanks to my cousin John who just showed up at court for moral support. That John John......he's the best!!!

I don't have any pictures today. I will try to take some more soon. As for now I am hoping to get into more of a routine with Morgan since we don't have court again until the 27th.

Presents for Morgan

Today was Morgan's first day of church. My aunt Patsy bought her her first church outfit to wear today and it was so cute! Morgan woke up sick this morning running a low fever and a runny nose so this is the best picture I could get of her.

Patsy said that she loved Sunday School, but she slept right through church service. We went to hang out with Nana and Papa after church and my sister came to see her. She bought her a Dora chair to watch tv in. Morgan loves it.

My mom bought a car seat so I was putting it in her car, and when I came back in they had taken pictures of her new favorite toy.

Imagine.....a box.....isn't that every kids wildest dream toy?

Sorry for the randomness of this blog. The last two nights have been rough for Morgan & Me and I am worried about tomorrow. I have to go to court for the first time ever tomorrow and I am scared to death! So, say a few extra prayers for me & Morgan that God's Will will prevail. I am so scared for her and just want what is best for her.

Shop Till You Drop

I am going to start by saying that the 13 hours sleeping didn't last but one night. Getting Morgan to sleep and to take a bath is becoming increasingly hard with every day. Right now it is a few minutes until 11 and I have just gotten her down for the first time tonight for longer than 5 minutes.

But, other than that Morgan continues to be a very sweet, loving little girl. Here is a picture that I took of her this morning. All smiles.

And this is one of Morgan's very favorite things.....the TV.

We spent most of our day today at the Mall of GA with Bethie and Miss Livi. It was our first outing together. All in all I think that it was a success. We spent the day together since Bethie & Livi leave tomorrow for the Big Apple! After a long day of shopping Morgan was tuckered out.

I guess the old saying is true Morgan proved today that you can "Shop Till You Drop!"

Our First Day Together...

Morgan started her day a little late. She slept 13 hours last night. Can you believe that?!?! I didn't sleep any on the other hand because I just couldn't turn my mind off. But altogether our first day was great! She is such a happy little girl. She smiles and giggles constantely. And she loves everyone so much! I have to admit that it hasn't been anything like what I was preparing myself for. She has done so great that I am going to take her to daycare in the morning and my mom will pick her up a little after lunch. I decided to go to work tomorrow since I have to take off Monday to go to court for her first hearing.

Here is a picture of Morgan watching TV first thing this morning.

Here we are before we left out for the day.

We are having a great time together. Check in tomorrow to see how it went with going to work and everything. As for me, I am off to bed!!!!

Meet Morgan

I received a phone call today around 3:50 as I was getting ready to head out of work. They said that they had a blond haired, blue eyed angel that was two years old. I said "YES!" So, I rushed home and started cleaning and trying to get ready while looking for daycares and answering 5,000 phone calls. When she got here she was all smiles and giggles. She hasn't even wimpered once until I gave her her bath. She didn't like that at all! So far Morgan is very easy going and loving. She hugs and kisses EVERYONE! And there were lots of people here to hug and kiss!

This is a picture of me rocking her.

Here is a picture of my Mom rocking her with my nephew Ethan looking on.

This is Morgan out for the night in her crib. Notice that she is a thumb sucker. A girl after my own heart I tell ya!

I didn't get any good pictures of her after her bath before she got tired. So, I promise to do that tomorrow.

I can't believe that it happened already. When they brought her they handed me a sheet of paper and said here is your approval and here is your kid. So, that's how it works.

My neice Emily is spending the night tonight. She is off tomorrow and wants to be with her. We are already in love!

Much more real......

Hello blogger buddies! I haven't had too much to blog about this week. It has been all work, work, work. Pretty boring.

Since I have nothing much to blog about I think that I might use my new blogger buds as a sounding board, if you will grant me that. As most of you know I am in the process of becoming a foster parent. Last Friday I found out that I am finally approved. That pretty much means that they could call at any minute any day now. With this realization, the thought that a child could be thrust at me at any minute now seems somehow much more real. Long gone are the days of worrying about paper work and home studies. And somehow I long for them, even though I prayed for that stage to come to an end. But lets face it anyone can do paperwork and tell their lives story to a stranger. Now comes the hard part. Most of the time all I ever hear is how brave I am, but I am really not. I am terrified. I know that it sounds weird but I am not scared of getting a child.....I am much more terrified that I won't be able to help the child. These kids have been abused and neglected and I pray every day and night that I will somehow have the knowledge that I will need to help them. Most of all that God will prepare my heart for the things to come. My biggest desire in life right now is to be able to love and help these kids grow and give them a knowledge of their Heavenly Father. And yet, somehow, to be able to let them go if that time comes.

This is a big decision that I made knowing all of these things. I thought that I had prepared myself. But the thought of doing it and the realization that it could come any day now is totally different. Now that I am that one step closer I just have to pray that my heart is right with God and that I am walking in his will. Because I know that he will be with me and if I just stop to listen he will tell me what I need to know.

Well, thanks guys for letting me get that out. You just can't be brave all the time!
